While you’re here…
Miami is full of amazing things to explore, but we have to admit—our personal favorite is simply lounging at the beach. Whether you’re up for adventure or just want to soak in the sun, this city has something for everyone. Below, we’ve put together a list of fun things to check out during your visit!
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, originally built in 1916 by industrialist James Deering as his winter retreat, is a breathtaking waterfront estate in Coconut Grove. With European-inspired architecture, lush gardens, and sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, it offers a glimpse into Miami’s Gilded Age. Fun fact: the estate features over 2,000 artifacts from around the world, making it as rich in history as it is in beauty!
The Keys
One of our favorite day trips is the easy 1.5-hour drive to the beautiful Florida Keys. We love booking an eco-tour with KeyZ Charters for a scenic boat ride, spotting wildlife (Butter gets so excited when he sees a manatee!), and then relaxing over a waterfront lunch and a cocktail. Don’t miss a stop at Keys Fisheries for fresh seafood, delicious cocktails, and one of the best sunset views around—it’s the perfect way to end the day!
Yoga at the Botanical Garden
Start your Sunday with a peaceful mind and a refreshed spirit at the Om Garden Sunday Vinyasa Yoga class. Held in the lush outdoor setting of The Miami Beach Botanical Garden, this guided class blends mindful movement and breathwork, making it perfect for all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or trying yoga for the first time, it’s a beautiful way to connect with nature and yourself in the heart of Miami.
Fairchild Botanic Garden
Fairchild Botanic Garden, located just 10 minutes from the Mayfair Hotel, is a tropical paradise in Coral Gables. Wander through lush landscapes, butterfly gardens, and rare plant collections from around the globe. Fun fact: Fairchild is a leader in tropical plant conservation and even sent seeds to the International Space Station to study how they grow in zero gravity! It’s a serene and fascinating escape close to the city.
Kayaking
Kayaking in Miami is a must-do for outdoor enthusiasts. Paddle through calm waters, explore mangroves, or just soak up the sunshine with stunning views of the city skyline. Fun fact: February is one of the best times to kayak in Miami—the cooler weather means fewer bugs, and you might even spot manatees as they seek out warmer waters! It’s an adventure that combines relaxation, exercise, and a unique perspective of the city.
Wynwood
Wynwood has evolved from a warehouse district into one of Miami’s most dynamic neighborhoods, known for its vibrant street art, incredible food, and unique activities. The best part? You can just show up and wander the streets to enjoy the colorful murals and creative energy—no tickets required! Stroll through the iconic Wynwood Walls, explore local shops, or grab a bite at one of the many fantastic restaurants and breweries. Fun fact: Wynwood is home to over 70 galleries and museums, making it one of the largest open-air art districts in the world! It’s a must-visit spot for art lovers, foodies, and curious explorers alike.
Miami Beachwalk
The Miami Beachwalk offers a scenic, car-free biking experience stretching along the stunning coastline from South Pointe Park to North Beach. With its mix of paved pathways and boardwalks, this trail is perfect for a leisurely ride or a fun way to explore Miami Beach’s vibrant neighborhoods. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic Art Deco architecture, ocean views, and plenty of spots to stop for a coffee or snack. Whether you’re renting a bike or bringing your own, it’s a relaxing and picturesque way to enjoy Miami’s coastal charm.
Little Havana
Little Havana is a vibrant neighborhood that immerses you in Miami’s rich Cuban culture. Stroll down Calle Ocho to explore colorful murals, cigar shops, and lively street scenes, or savor the flavors of Cuba at one of the many local eateries. Be sure to visit La Trova for incredible food, the city’s best mojitos, and authentic Cuban jazz—it’s an experience you won’t forget. Fun fact: Little Havana is home to Domino Park, where locals have gathered for decades to play dominoes and share stories. Below, you’ll find a guide to help you plan your visit to this cultural gem.
